Workshop Overview:
Quantum computing is rapidly transitioning from a research-driven field to one focused on delivering real-world value. With quantum processors now surpassing the 100-qubit scale and continuous advancements in the Qiskit software ecosystem, the potential to achieve Quantum Advantage is becoming increasingly tangible. While promising use cases are emerging in areas like chemistry and materials discovery, key challenges such as error mitigation and scalability remain.
This workshop, “Scaling for Quantum Advantage and Beyond,” offers expert-led lectures and hands-on sessions by IBM Quantum, covering the latest progress, practical approaches to utility-scale computing, and skills for designing realistic quantum workloads. It is aimed at experienced Qiskit users.
Topics include:
- Keynote – IBM’s Quantum Advantage initiatives, and highlights in research and algorithm development with our partners.
- Introduction of Quantum computing applications and algorithms in the real world and hands-on in the following key areas and topics:
- Chemistry
- Optimization
- Utility-scale dynamic circuits
- Introduction of Qiskit Functions – abstracted services designed to accelerate application research (Details are TBD)
